We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Management Accountant in a newly created role on a Full-time, permanent basis to join our Accounts Team to assist the accounts Finance Director with daily functional accounts processes. The position is an exciting opportunity to build upon all areas within the finance function
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of management accounts including journals and analysis
•
Assist in the preparation / review of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations
•
Assist with the annual statutory accounts process and delivering the external audit
•
Maintain strong analysis and control of overheads, including the preparation of detailed cost-variance analysis
•
Support inventory controls and stock accounting processes
•
Preparation and review of monthly VAT and CIS returns
•
Assist with cash flow management and forecasting activities
•
Support of other areas of the finance function including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll
•
Assist with tax queries and ensure the business is following process for documentation of tax filings
•
Supporting key stakeholders within the organisation, providing financial and technical accounting support
•
Participating in and delivery of cross functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance & operational departments
•
Project work – system changes, banking analysis, capital allowances workings, VAT reviews etc
Compilation & preparation of information for Board Packs and other key financial information
•
Ad hoc work as and when required
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
ACA/CIMA/ACCA part qualified (Ideally in the early stages of studies)

Experience working with (or a strong desire) to work with a dynamic and fast-growing business
•
Demonstrate technical competency in financial accounting
•
Comfortable in a collegiate, open and meritocratic environment
•
Knowledge of Sage 200 and Sage 50 Payroll preferred but not essential
•
Advanced Excel skills

Competitive Salary with Study support – £30k-£38k (dependant on level and experience)
